The University of California, San Francisco Center for Tobacco Research and Education (CTCRE), an interdisciplinary research community, announces its one-day workshop on using tobacco and other industry documents for advocacy. We highlight how lessons learned from tobacco industry documents also apply to chemical, food, drug and opiate industries..

**NEW THIS YEAR**  The Industry Documents Library contains evidence of unethical industry tactics to suppress information about environmental factors contributing to breast cancer. This year, the annual Tobacco and Industry Documents Workshop is collaborating with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Philip R.Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies and Breast Cancer Action to uplift the use of the Industry Documents Library for breast cancer advocacy, campaign development, and research collaborations.

The goals of the Strengthening Breast Cancer Advocacy and Research Using Industry Documents Library session are to:

  1. Educate and train attendees on the breast cancer-related content in the IDL including high-level industry tactics to reverse public opinion that environmental exposures are causally linked to breast cancer and industry funded research
  2. Connect breast cancer advocates and researchers, journalists , and industry documents specialists
  3. Foster opportunities for partnerships that can advance research and advocacy goals

If you are interested in learning more about the Industry Documents Library and breast cancer, please express interest in the event registration.
